On August 17th, 2006 it was obvious upon Technaflora’s arrival to the Bonfire Music Festival site at Ruby Lake that the four day event was going to be a huge success on the Sunshine Coast. The volunteers were energized making last minute preparations—Mother Nature was at her best and the view—spectacular.
As one of the event’s premium sponsors, Technaflora provided funding as well as colourful banners that flanked the outdoor stage created from reclaimed roots, logs and boulders which housed a variety of bands strumming to the beat of roots, rock, reggae, funk and bluegrass.
With over 1,500 people in attendance, along with 23 acts, the Spirit Of The Rainforest Amphitheater rocked all night and all day to the likes of Five Alarm Funk, The Masses, Slammin’ Jack and Roots Round Up—just to name a few. “The music was “HOT” and the extremely appreciative crowd, seemingly in tune with the flow of the music at every turn certainly made the performers feel welcome and appreciated,” said Jason Goodman, General Manager of Technaflora.
Between sets, families with children in tow were entertained by the Mythmaker Group who provided great kids programming on Saturday and Sunday. “The festival was a huge success and had a big Family Feeling—Not just "Family" as it is referred to in the Jam world,” said Goodman, “but Family meaning kids and children. Many children played about the venue and enjoyed all it had to offer in a safe and secure environment. This truly was the place to be.”
Technaflora would also like to send out a big “Thank You” to all the people who worked so hard to put this one together...Bonfire Music Festival is an event to be cherished and preserved for years to come!
