I am testing Thrive Alive Red for a local grow
store. Typically I would soak the RW cubes in
a solution of H2O adj. to 5.5 ph for 24 hrs,
pour off, shake out excess water, resaturate
with 1/4 strength GH or the like adjusted to 6.3
& then do cuttings. I always get better results if
I wash out residual lime in the RW. My water
hardness (calcium) is 72 PPM, 180 PPM out of
the tap and stablizes @ 7.2 ph after blowing
off the clorides. Mom Tom. lives in potting soil
(Fafard 2) with run thru 5.8-6.0. After adding TA
red to H2O @ 3 ml/L the ph stayed 7.2 Do I
need to ph adjust? What's the story? Thanks.

Bill,
If I understand you correctly, you added 3ml/L TA-Red to your H2O after the H2O had "Stabilized" and the original pH of the H2O was 7.2 and this did not change after adding the TA-Red.
This does not surprise me as TA-Red does not usually alter the pH of a H2O solution greatly (and especially if the sample size was small).
The answer to your question is YES; it is always beneficial to pH adjust all solutions that you are giving to your plants. Ideally, pH should be in the range of 6-6.5.
Thank you for your question and for your continued support.
Please let us know how your tests turn out.

Thanks for your response. Since nothing was
said re. ph in your literature I thot it best to
check. I have friends into Organic hydro that
run their ph all over the map. Another guy ferts
plants in potting soil w/Miracle Gro & ups ph in
solution with hydrated lime to 8.0! With good
results, too. Go figure.
Facts Jack: Clonex.
