Normalization is the process through which ideas and behaviours that may fall outside of social norms come to be regarded as “normal.” Prior to legalization, cannabis was taboo. It was a secretive, at times even shameful behaviour — even for those using it for medicinal reasons.
Over the past couple of years, through legalization and education, the cannabis community has come out of the shadows to shape ideas and public conversation about their right to lead a plant-forward lifestyle in the open.
